2022 Beautylish lucky Bag

Writer's picture: OSOS

Hey People! Late to the party, I know.

Wanted to talk about my 2022 Beautylish lucky bag.....It did take me a great while to unbox this. Just sat in a corner till i remembered it. Terrible! I know. Already knocking myself, no need to follow suit.

Opened, tested and now onto my review.

To the juicy details of what it is before pic of what I received....

"Lucky bags" are essentially mystery goodie bags that contain anything from clothes to food, depending on the store selling them. They started out as a way for Japanese department stores to get rid of old stock at the start of the year.

Beautylish.com partcipates in this annual craze. They offer mystery bags of beauty products (...and if you are really lucky, you can receive something extra in your bag). The lucky bag sale opens on their site on the 26th of December and ships in the new year. This is very sought out and gets sold out in an hour or less.

For 2023, you can sign up if interested using this link: https://www.beautylish.com/shop/lucky-bag-2023-sign-up

They do offer different categories;

  • The original lucky bag - Goes for USD75 for USD150+ worth of products - this ships everywhere beautylish ships and you can purchase according to your skin tone - fair to medium and medium to deep skin tones.

  • Lucky bag XL - Goes for USD150 for USD300+ worth of products. - this is only available for United states residents.

  • They also offer Jeffery star cosmetics lucky bags - Goes for USD75 for USD150+ worth of products - all products in this bags will be from his beauty brand.

Now to the interesting bit:

I received 6 items in my lucky bag - Lets go through them to see if I was lucky and if I received the promised value:

1) Hindash beautopsy pressed pigment palette - USD70. I really like this palette so no regrets.

Its a matte face palette and can do most of your makeup with just this palette alone. It blends, layers well. Pretty colours. It is more a day palette given it has no shimmers.

2) Natasha Denona invisible HD Powder in medium dark - This goes for USD32. This is loose setting powder. The shade is fine and works for my skin tone well. While I have deep skin tone, i technically do not use deep setting powder, now sure why, they just don't work for me, renders my skin oily. Have tried several brands and same thing happens. I go with translucent or medium deep, it works better and no ashiness. This works great, even on my oily bits, gives me the smooth perfection I hanker after. Great choice!

3) Beautylish Yano series Brush 10 - This goes for USD35 and it is a natural hair pencil brush made from gray squirrel. This is part of the Yano series by Beautylish. I really like this brush and use it for my under eye. does not poke and glides seamlessly when used. Love it.

4) Uoma beauty matte lipstick - This goes for USD24. The shade I was given was not for me. I gifted this out to an Aunt. She loves it though and the shade looks good on her. She is of a fairer complexion than I am.

5) Good molecules Gentle retinol cream - This goes for USD8. I am a regular retinol user and my first time trying retinol from this brand. Its quite weird. They included Bakuchiol (plant based substitute for retinol) in this cream. It is hydrating and no feeling of tightness or need to use oil after putting this on. I love it, very gentle.

6) Wayne Goss essential lip pencil in deep nude shade - This goes for USD14. Not a fan of Wayne goss personally so stay away from his products. However, I received this and decided to try it. its creamy, glides on lips and stays in place.

That was all I received in my box. Total value was USD183 and higher than the promised minimum value. Was it worth it? Combined with shipping and taxes, I paid about USD92 total. Savings of USD91.

Yes it was. Am I pleased with my box, I am. There was only one item which I could not use and found a good home for it.

Overall, great experience. Will surely get one for next year.

You be the judge! Was I lucky?
