Hello Loves! Hope your day is going well? Started prepping for a holiday. Who else hates the prep time but love when you are on the move? Start early and make the process seamless...Yeah right. Started stressing already. Hope your day is less stressful than mine is going right now.
Decided to write a post to take my mind off things. So here we go!
Today we are talking Bristles beauty....
Bristles Beauty is owned by a mother, daughter duo team based in Canada. They offer Fude made in Japan by Japanese artisans. Each brush is hand-crafted with no machines used.
On the hairs used for the brushes? Direct quote from the site "Brushes E01-E03 and F08 are natural goat hair; E04 is natural horse hair; E05 is a horse and synthetic blend; P06 and P07 are synthetic; F09 is a goat and synthetic blend".

I have 3 brushes from this brand. The E02, E03 and the F10.
Lets' go through them.
The F10 is the setting/finishing powder brush. This has a combination of goat hair and synthetic hairs. This is sold for USD58.
Sigh...I really don't like this brush. Its soft! Don't get me wrong. It will pick up powder and place easily on your face. Will also blend it well.
Before I got it, I went through the site and part of the purposes stated, references bronzing. Nope! You cannot use this for bronzing. It is flimsy! Unless its a loose powder bronzer, will not work. Pickup is simply impossible. Worse with pan bronzers.
Even the way, this splays out and length of the bristles, will not work. Its a one trick pony. Setting/finishing and that is it.

This is comparable to Rephr brush 30 which is full on natural hair.
If you are going to get one, get the Rephr.
I got it at a 30% discount and even for that price, its not worth it.
It will be going back on the market.
For that price, you can get good natural hair brushes (China made) from Ali express. Shoushoulang comes to mind. You do not need this brush.
The E02 -RL brush is an all purpose brush and great for shading and blending. This is similar to Brush 01 from Rephr.

While this is similar to the brush one, it is tapered at the top. Has less hair bundled and the ferrule is more pressed than Brush 01. It goes for USD20.
Consequently, this can be used as a crease brush if you use this on the side. This is great with my hooded eyes.
It is incredible soft but i find brush 01 more user friendly because the ferrule is not as pressed, neither is the tip tapered, so it is better at blending than this brush.
it is full on natural hair and has not shed since using it. The brush is also a good size.
I have used this for concealing but did not work for highlight due to the taper and the ferrule construction. Overall, it is a good one, I got this because i assumed it would work similar to Brush 01.

The E03 - DM is exactly like Brush 13. This was exactly what I wanted when I bought this. Goes for USD19.
This is a simple small crease brush. Very soft and fit into my crease. Picks up and lays pigments easily.
Was able to get coloured pigments off the bristles with very little effort. This is perfect. This is exactly what I was looking for.
My feelings on my purchases and the brand? Would I buy this again? No! Rephr is cheaper than this and offers similar to better quality brushes.
However, this is a smaller brand, women owned brand and if you do want to support, I recommend reading up on a few reviews or even watching a few reviews videos before dabbling into this brand.
Would I buy again from this brand? Certainly if they have what I am looking for.
While I am not entirely satisfied with my purchases from this brand, the onus was on me to have conducted a more in-depth research into what I was getting before I did.
The quality is great, i just feel, there is a disconnect between the price and the product. You can get better at lower prices elsewhere. My opinion is what it is.
That is all for this post guys....See you on the next one.....
