Another day, another declutter..This has been long in coming. Should have been completed since June but with my mum's birthday, my siblings visiting, being sick, I have been overwhelmed.
I am not a fan of keeping things I am not using. Rather, pass them along. Give them a new home. So here we go.....
I usually declutter a bit ever quarter and major every half year. Decluttered clothes I am not currently wearing and passed along to an Orphanage I got introduced to by an Aunt recently. Had to get them dry cleaned, folded, packed and delivered.
Also getting rid of palettes I have not used in the last 6 months. These will be going to friends and majority going to a women's shelter.
Lets' go through those I am letting go of and why I am not using these palettes.
Ace Beauté falling for you palette. Honestly I hate the Ace Beaute formula. The mattes comes off as muddy on me.
The shimmers are not distinct when you apply them to the lids. They are just one tone.
In this palette, all the shimmers come off with a pinky tone.
The shimmers don't combine well. If you are using one shimmer shade, then it will work. Any more, then they come off light/dusky pinky tone.
Just too much work to make it work. Decluttered.
Another brand which I have never gotten along with is Violet Voss. This is the Violet Voss Olive you forever palette. Got this palette in a Boxycharm box.
Was hoping this would change my mind towards the brand.
Alas no! The colour story is really what I would gravitate towards but it just did not work for me.
The mattes is where I have the problem. This is not so powdery which is a win but it is patchy as hell.
To make the mattes work, you have to spend so much time packing and blending.
I am just not into working so hard to make a palette work. Decluttered.
This is the Coloured Raine Smoke show palette. This lasted long with me because I actually chose it and paid for it.
Kept justifying why I should keep it but this just does not work for me.
I love the Coloured raine formula.
However, this palette is unusable. In order to make it work, you have to combine with another palette.
That is just not my thing. If I pick up a palette, I should be able to create a look with just that palette.
That is just not possible with this or rather it is possible, but just not a look I would wear. Hence, decluttered.
Colourpop Grandeur palette. This palette is attractive. The packaging got me!
Its even got a duo chrome in it and the colour story is me! Green based.
What more can I ask for?

The mattes blend so well! The shimmers are amazing. They stick to the lids. You have no need to either wet your brush or use glitter glue to make it stay.
The issues! Glitter shadow right in the middle of the palette. I don't wear glitter as a rule.
The mattes are so powdery! They get everywhere. I find that particularly annoying! Decluttered!
Ofra palettes! The Glitch and the Black Friday palettes!
I love Ofra highlighters and assumed I would love these palettes which I got in mystery boxes.
Again I was wrong. The shimmers in the all shimmer glitch palette are just awful!
These literally just come off dull. Tried applying them different ways but nope! Just dull. Decluttered.
The black friday palette is slightly better than the glitch. However, the black friday palette is basically one tone. While I do like dark shadows, its not my go to look. Only used this a few times. Not being sufficiently used. Best to find them new homes.

Juvia's place saharan palette. Not going to mention or lay a finger on the any Juvia's place scandals. Just facing why I am decluttering their palette.
I really like Juvia's place palettes. They are highly pigmented, blend like a dream.
The colour stories are sometimes not my cup of tea.
This is an example of a palette not being my cup of tea, This colour story is jumbled in my opinion.
Not a fan or orange shades. Takes too much work to work with with my skin tone.
The black shade is ridiculously deep! If you apply that to your eye, it takes over the whole look.
The only shade that makes it worth keeping is that gold shade. Why would I keep a palette for just one shade.
Rather find it a new home with someone who would love the palette.

Another day, another colourpop palette. This is the Boudoir noir palette.
Got this palette while travelling and needed a goldish palette to complete a look for an event. This worked for that purpose.
The price wa great. Got it at a significant discount as well.
I really like the colour story but the one glitter shade and the powdery mattes just does not make me reach for this at all.
Rather than keep it, rather find it another home where its loved.
Decluttered!
That is 8 palettes going away. I am also going to declutter some synthetic brushes and send them with these palettes.
Have to wash the brushes and make sure they are good enough to give away before my trip to the women's shelter. That is still on my to do list.
That is my post for today. My half year declutter took much longer than it should have but better late than never!
