Hello Everyone. Happy Saturday. Hope your saturday is treating you well?
For me,its just little old me sitting here contemplating the day and all the things I have on the burner. Things I am worried about, things I am thankful for. Just everything as I finish up my cup of coffee.
Anyways, this is the begining of another new series. My declutter series. All those thing, you just need to wave bye to at the door.
I used to believe in one giant declutter at a dedicated time, when I get rid of everything from skincare to makeup to clothes, shoes. Just everything.
Decided, the level of time I dedicated to that activity was just not worth the effort. Once I know something is not worth keeping, best to let go immediately and pass along to someone else who would enjoy it or just sell or bin it.
So here goes the begining of my new mode of declutter.... this time with makeup items that are not doing it for me or same shades multiple times.

Not sure what is goes on these days where the prices of everything is going through the roof. Been trying to find great items from the drugstore that can replace some of my high end products.
This time, pressed setting powder.
The mabelline fit me matte powder was recommended. Chose a shade slghtly lighter than my foundation shade for a setting powder. I went with shade 355 coconut. The shade is sort of similar to the Pat mcgrath under eye setting powder in deep which is my go to all over setting powder.
Yeah...this did not work for me. Don't get me wrong. It is matte and kept my oils at bay. At 4 hours
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/2a875d_9301559417054435be61e747e5e8c729~mv2.jpeg/v1/fill/w_980,h_1307,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/2a875d_9301559417054435be61e747e5e8c729~mv2.jpeg)
it still looked as great as when I put it on.
The issue with this is, made my face CAKEY! It is not also the easy breezy feeling...like you have nothing on feeling I like. You know and feel you have this product on your face. I kept blotting throughout the day. Not to stem the oils but to reduce the cakey feeling.
This product is not for me. If you like full coverage, heavy duty, matte makeup, this maybe for you.
My skin but better look type of person? This is not for you.
I tried with this product as a setting powder with various tools. Dense brush, fluffy brush, went with synthetic, goat, squirrel and fox brushes. Got the same feeling. Its not the tool, its the powder that was not for me.
I tried to make it work more than any other product. Not even sure why I tried so hard. My Pat Mcgrath and Charlotte Tilbury still remain my go to for pressed setting powders.

Lets' talk about some wine shaded blushes.
I have one from Colourpop, one from Makeup geek and volume 1 of the juvia's place powder blushes.
I know the juvia's place blush has 2 blushes in one pack but can reasonably let both go.
There is no point in keeping all 3. When they are swatched, there are slight differences in shades but when you blend on your cheeks, they come out the same shade.
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/2a875d_da25fabc734c4456a788a04e4a94bbf4~mv2.jpeg/v1/fill/w_980,h_1307,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/2a875d_da25fabc734c4456a788a04e4a94bbf4~mv2.jpeg)
The swatches from left to right, 1) colourpop shade icing on top, 2) Makeup geek. 3) Juvia's place.
I declded to keep the Makeup geek. Got this for a dollar. Yep. You read that right. A dollar when they were going out of business.
They all have very good pigmentation, soft and blends well. None comes off patchy. They all come off same shade when blended on cheeks. The juvia's place goes on the most subtle when blended out.
The colourpop blush is very powdery and gets everywhere.
There is no credible reason to hang onto all 3. Rather gift the other 2 to friends and family to enjoy. This is a good shade for us dark skinned girls.

The makeup geek bronzer has got to go.......
Got this for a dollar as well when the company was going out of business.
ThIs bronzer has specs of shimmer in it. This would be a good bronzer but its cool toned and it comes off greyish on me. This is also their deepest shade.
It blends well, looks beautiful on skin, just not my skin.
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/2a875d_e19390a8473d411e8a6b76145ff0d282~mv2.jpeg/v1/fill/w_980,h_1307,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/2a875d_e19390a8473d411e8a6b76145ff0d282~mv2.jpeg)
The packaging is also not the best. pan fell out a few times but onto carpet, thank God for that so it did not shatter.
I have since stuck the bottom to palette to stop the constant falling out.
The shade leaves a lot to be desired. If the shimmer specs was not there and the shade was about 2 to 3 shades deeper, this would be a good contour shade.
Since the company has gone out of business, will keep my peace but the shade range leaves a lot to be desired.
Besides that, this is a good product and will be passing this along to someone else who can enjoy it.

Onto brown shade of blushes. Yes. The Nyx buttermelt bronzer in the deepest shade is a brown blush not a bronzer on me. Got too much red pigment in it.
I usually dislike strong scents in my makeup but got to say I really like the scent off the Nyx buttermelt bronzer. It is highly blendable, not powdery at all and comes off rosy on the cheeks even on dark skin
Read different reviews that this bronzer shatters. Mine has not broken or shattered so far and it has fallen off my hands a few times.
The colourpop blush is shade latte run is of a similar shade to the bronzer.

Here are swatches of both.
They comes off same when blended on skin. Both are highly pigmented. A litle goes a long way. Use as both bronzer and eyeshadow.
I prefer the Nyx over the colourpop because it blends better and the powdery nature of the colourpop is annoying at best.
Pricewise, Nyx was around USD10 with 5g of product while Colourpop was on sale for USD4 with 6g of product.
Keeping the Nyx and decluttering the Colourpop.

The Sephora powder bronzer. This is one of the newest things on the block for the sephora house brand.
This comes in 5 shades and this is the deepest shade. Name is tropical bronze.
This is matte, creamy, smooth and natural on my face. Comes off a little on the powdery side when you dip your brush into it.
I really like this bronzer. The issue is with the shade. This blends a little too well, to the point that it disappears into my skin. Reminds me of the Haus labs bronzer.

I really like the formula here. The shade is the problem.
The swatch here is going into the product 3 itmes to build up the pigment on top of each other for the swatch and it is still barely detectable on my hand.
My face is slightly deeper than my hand.
It just does not translate well despite being the deepest shade.
I am disappointed in Sephora here.

Got this Rose. Inc cream blush in shade delphine from one of those Sephora Favourites set.
Do I need to say more? This is just ashy on my skin tone.
Litrally disappears into my skin and leaves behind a greasy patch of skin.
This is a no for me. Maybe someone lighter may be able to use it but i doubt that.
Also not a fan of the formula. Looks and feels like creamy lipstick. Was looking for a lip liner when I swatched this on.

Colourpop multichrome eyeliners. Nah! nope, nope, nope! These are not multichrome anything!
I have multichrome eyeliners from sugar drizzle polish, Kaleidos and Danessa Myricks. Those are multichromes.
These colourpop ones are shimmer eyeliners. That is an appropriate label.
Swathed right here for you to see. They also smudge easily and disappear within 2 hours.
Don't care if you buy this on sale or full price, they are not worth it. I would pass on these. They don't fit into why I got them. Decluttered.

The juvia's place dark bronzer duo. I could only use one of the bronzer from the duo and that is still lighter than my perfect bronzer shade.
Finally got the deepest bronzer duo which fits me better so decluttering this dark version.
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/2a875d_d2b65c1ba874407fb10fdf274a6b4567~mv2.jpeg/v1/fill/w_980,h_1307,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/2a875d_d2b65c1ba874407fb10fdf274a6b4567~mv2.jpeg)
Swatching the useable shade from the duo against my ride or die bronzers.
Deepest shade from the Juvia's place dark bronzer duo.
Fenty beauty powder bronzer in shade thick mint (deepest shade).
Pat Mcgrath bronzer in the bronze mahogany.
On skin, the fenty beauty and pat mcgrath looks the same when blended out. Juvia's place blends out a lot more than the other 2 leaving it lighter on skin.
Price-wise, would recommend the Juvia's place one over the other 2 if you can find your shade.
While I love the Fenty and Pat Mcgrath, the Fenty is not advisable pricewise. This is USD35 for 6g of product while the Pat Mcgrath is USD39 for 9.5g of product. Pat Mcgrath is also usually on sale so easier to get for 30% off.
If you can find your shade, the Pat Mcgrath is getting more for your money. I also have to mention, this is hard pressed. If you are a Fude user, goat or Red Fox brushes work best with this bronzer.
That is also I am getting rid off and managed to alos provide some product recommendations as well. If you read to the end. Thank you for handing out with me and will see you on the next post.
