Hey people! How has the month been treating you? For me work has been hectic! Got to say, this last week, been irritable but we have to keep it moving! Lets' talk about decluttering eyeshadows out. Things I am not using, have got to go!
Best to pass them along to someone that will love and appreciate them rather than hoarding!
Over the last year, I have accumulated quite a number makeup and skincare, I just cannot use for various reasons....lets' talk through some I had to get rid of....
Lilah B - Got some lilac B shadows and lip balms at a great discount (should have been a clue). These are horrid! The shadows have little to no pigmentation and powdery as heck. You literally need a broom to sweep the fallout off your face!
Just dipping a brush into it and you get a ton of fall out.
The pigmentation is also not there. The shimmers or what should be shimmers are not better than the mattes. They reflect as mattes despite being more of a shimmer/satin type shadows.
This just did not work at all. The lip balms were worse, within an hour, my lips were incredibly dry, worse than when I put it on. For a lip balm, had too much pigmentation and came off as dry neon pink.
Maybe, I tried the wrong products for me with this line, just did not work and seriously unwilling to try again. I was able to declutter the shadow to a family member who liked the packaging which I have to say is the best thing about this line so far. Those things can be used as weapons.
The lip balms went into the bin. I could not in all conscience pass that to someone else. Its terrible.
Yeah I know! Colourpop. The excessive releases brand. I fell for it. It can happen.
I like the last row on this and got it because of that but this whole color story did not work for me.
I dislike this formula, too powdery. Gets everywhere and a chore to get off my face.
I like about three shadows in this palette.
To use, I had to dip into another palette and ended up using just one shadow in this each time I used it, so rather than being an essential palette, because the accompaniment palette each time I used it.
Thought about deporting them but would not be able to give a ruined palette to someone else. Just decluttered the whole thing out.
An Oden's eye mini palette. This came with one shadow broken Oden's eye customer service is great. They fixed the issue so I was not at a loss.
I wrote about this in an earlier post.
The mattes are great! Granted I hate the blue shade in this but the formula is great.
The issue I have is with the large shimmer shades. That takes over every eye look and gets everywhere. if you don't use it, the eye look is crap unless you dip into another palette. The only useable shade is the brown. The yellow gold is just that. You need soemthing else. I have those shades in other palettes, so this was not worth it. Decluttered.
Temptress palette from Alter ego. This is a dupe for an ABH palette and cost a fraction of the ABH price. Financially, this is worth it and serves as a cost saving from buying he original palette.
The Alter Ego palette is great. The formula is lovely, the shimmers are amazing and reflective. The mattes blend easily and no work is requires to blend. A few swipes and you are there. The pigmentation is beautiful. Now to the problem! These look terrible on me. The shades are too cool toned. I also have the Natasha Denona Glam palettes and it takes work to look good on me, so why double the efforts with another cool toned palette? Declutter to a friend who it works better for.
If you are looking for a cool toned reasonable priced palette, check this one out.
Yep! I decluttered a viseart palette out. Got this for work reasons and this was a dud for me.
The mattes did not blend well and incredibly patchy on the eyes. To look reasonable, you had to keep packing it on. The shimmers were incredibly powdery. Took too much work and time to get an eye look out of this. Just not worth it.
I have other viseart palettes and did not experience that with them. Just this. I kept it for a while and kept trying.
Think I got a dud palette, decluttered out.
Yep! All the horrid stories about the Fenty shadows are true.
The best part is the packaging. The ides of snapping a stack of them together and using as one with each being a different colour story was interesting and new.
Wish they had taken the time to also work on the shadows as well.
These are patchy not smooth mattes. The shades also blend into nothingness when you really work them.
The shimmers are powdery and melt into each other if you use more than one per eye look.
This did not work for me. The idea is great then execution left a lot to be desired.
I love Juvia's place. Very pigmented products at a reasonable price point. They always have one promotion or the other going so you can also get great discounts.
They have one of the best bronzer and blush powders formulas ever. I love this brand.
Yes! I am aware of the controversy and choosing not to address it here. I do confess to not getting anything from them since then, nor have I stopped using the products from them I have with me.
When this arrived, one shade was broken and it was a really good shade too. This palette is beautiful and its worth the money.
The pans are quite large and its work appropriate. You can tone down and you can hype up. Blends very well, a few swipes and you are good.
The shimmers are outstanding with very little fall out.
My pet peeve is, I only really like one shade here, the green. Given that, I thought about taking that out and passing the rest along, decided to pass the whole thing along and let someone else enjoy the palette as a whole. I have the green shade with Sydney grace.
I got this story book palette in an old subscription box. The packaging on this is horrid. This takes up so much space.
It is think cardboard with so much unnecessary shade taken up to adhere to the theme of a thick storybook.
I get it theme is important but come on! The space sed to store this can be used to store 5 regular palettes.
I could not take it, Decluttered.
The colour story in this palette is really nice. Some of the shades are light and still still use able. Easy to create a good look with this palette.
The mattes blend well and they shimmers pop even on my dark skin tone.
The packaging is what I find abhorrent. Its' silly. I decluttered just for that. Gave it a better home.
I have another decluttering coming up soon but just main one. Will take about what is going out of my collection in a subsequent post.
Thank you for hanging with me. See you in my next post!
