Empties.....

Writer's picture: OSOS

Sigh......Had one of those weeks...you know those weeks that you drag yourself through? Yep! I had one of them....

Its been a slugfest.....Now its the weekend.....Sitting here, having a drink and trying to catch up on my empties post....this should be the last one from my heavy batch.....

Lets' dig into this.....

Said it a hundred times, saying it again, Murad products are overpriced and just blah...cannot understand the high price tag.

I tried the Murad City skin overnight detox moisturiser - This goes for a whooping USD79 then add tax and delivery onto that, you get an idea of the high price tag.

Has a citrus scent (if you are sensitive to scents, you may want to avoid this). Has a whipped consistency which gives it a nice airy finish. Layers well under serums and treatments. Always layers well under oils. Very comfortable to wear.

This is supposed to neutralise damage caused by pollutants and blue light from screens. Spend a lot of time in front of my computer, laptop or iPads. So put this to the test. I call bullshit on this! How can you judge damage caused by blue light? Not to talk of fighting damage it causes? Come on!!!!

It also has nourishing botanicals that moisturizes & plumps which should aid in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Calling bullshit again. Used the whole thing up. I concede that it does moisturise well and I woke up to smooth and healthy skin. My wrinkles are still winking at me every time I look in the mirror.

However, you can get a similar result with a face moisturiser from the ordinary, go in with a facial squalene oil. You are good and you spend less that quarter of that price to achieve the same effect.

Anytime, I come across Murad products, I am tempted to try it and call their bullshit out. Maybe, just maybe, I might find one I like. Possible?

Murad Vita-C Eyes dark circle corrector - Full size goes for USD65. I used 3 of the mini sizes to test out this product.

This is a serum. Goes on smoothly and comfortable on skin. Does not burn when close to eyes.

This should brighten eye area and reduce dark circles around your eye area.

Using this is similar to sprinkling water onto your eye area every morning. Has similar effect. Calling bullshit on this as well.

A good alternative is Sweet chef turmeric vitamin c booster eye cream and you can get this for USD22.77 (less than half price)

Love it when I finish up foundations. It happens so rarely and ran through 2 of my favs close together!

The Chanel les Beiges water fresh tint in shade deep has been my staple for humid environments when you are striving for the makeup, no makeup days. You literally need 5 elements to complete a look with this on. This, eyeliner, mascara, blush and lip tint. You are good to go. I assure you, you will be fresh all day.

This has basically water with foundation molecules in it. It gives sheer coverage, blurs out all my hyperpigmentation, guarantees smooth skin. I love it. Would typically last all day without breaking down.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser oil free - this gives about medium coverage. When looking for higher coverage in humid environment, this is my go to skin tint/moisturiser/foundation. This works well for my skin and layers well with everything else, I lay on top of it.

Last a decent amount of time and it being oil free, with a good primer keeps my oils at bay so i look fresh for longer without having to blot.

Pat Mcgrath Labs Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Primer - That is a boat load of words to name a primer and a terrible one at that. Bloody heck! Save yourself! Never get this. I was gifted. Thank God! If I paid for this, I would be screaming to high heavens!

This does nothing for your skin. I mean zero. For a luxury product, the packaging is cheap and nasty. The label was already coming off when I got it. Does not offer any advantage prior to your foundation. Use your moisturiser and foundation next. This serves no purpose at all.

The most annoying part is, it comes with those baggies inside the bottle whereby you cannot get all the product out. Sunday Riley, I am looking at you! They give the same shitty packaging!

First aid beauty ultra repair cream - Like not love this moisturiser. It does offer great hydration, no scent (for scent sensitive folks out there, this is for you).

My issue with this is, when you have it on, it sort of sits on top of your skin and takes a few minutes to sink in. Its smooth sailing afterwards.

It good but not a fav.

I have a future post of soap & glory as a brand as well as beauty pie. Will leave my reviews for those on the associated blog posts (watch this space!)

Bio Oil skincare oil - You have a moisturiser that does not provide sufficient hydration? Pour this in it. Provides hydration, evens out skin tone and helps reduce the appearance of any scars you have.

This does exactly what it says on the tin. It does also recommend for stretch marks (Ladies you all know we got them). Nope!!! Do not use this for your stretch marks! Used this for a year and my stretch marks were still going strong. Used natural shea butter and wiped away in 5 months. Natural shea butter works best for stretch marks.

Now face oil rant!

Farsali volcanic elixir beauty oil - I was talking to a friend about face oil that hydrates overnight and she swore by this oil on how it works for her.

She gifted me a bottle.Thanked her and tried this out.....Oh my God! This smells like poop! You are still freaking hydrated overnight because you could not lay your head down to freaking sleep because of the stench!

The stench is pretty bad! At first I though it was me, maybe I used it work or it mingled badly with my serums. Used by itself and still awful! I don't care how much hydration, this gives you, nothing and I mean nothing is worth that stench in your bed. Hard Pass!

For those that swear by this oil, enjoy! This is solely my opinion.

Disciple good skin oil - Really like this facial oil. Its my go to when i have a flare up. Calms skin. Has a slight scent. Despite it being an oil, it does not make your skin greasy after use. my qualm about it is the packaging. The oil leaked out of the top when it kicked over. The dropper also broke off when half full. Made it difficult to use.

Think I have finally, finally caught up with amy empties posts.....Still drinking and its making me snarky on all these brands.

Hoepyoua re all enjoying your weekend as well.....till next post guys! Later!
