Empties.....

Writer's picture: OSOS

Happy Holidays! Hope yours are treating you great? Mine has been ok so far! Gave myself a great present! Been holding out for these for about 2 years and decided to get them for myself.

Will show them at a later date. Can you guess what they are? What are my favourite things?

Anyways, let's get into this post. Been missing in action where it relates to my empties! Not done a similar post since July 2022, so have a lot to write about.

Will talk about specific items I want to share information about. Have so much to discuss.....so lets' get started!

Farmacy honeymoon glow serum - you know when you are in winter or harmattan season (depending on where you are located), the way, your skin goes dull no matter what and chuck it up to the season? Well this works!

This takes away that dull skin tone.

Exfoliates your skin, cleans out your pores and makes your skin glow. I usually have this on about 3 days a week, basically when I am home during the day or even in the evening. While I love it, the cost is an issue for me. USD40 for that is steep. Good Molecules has an alternative at a much cheaper price and performs just as well. You can get that on beautylish. They deliver to most Countries and you can earn rewards on your purchase.

Sol de janeiro bum bum body mist - If you like the sol de janeiro scent, you will love this. Can be used on body and hair. I do not advise you spray this in your hair though. The scent is not that long lasting on me but that may be due to body chemistry. As far as body mists go, I prefer bath and body works to this.

Laura Mercier setting powder in Banana shade - Have deep tone skin but not a fan of extremely dark setting powders, they just make my face oily. This setting powder works for my skin tone as well. Evidenced by the empty package. This is not a favourite for me but gets the job done ok. My favourite for now is the Pat Mcgrath under eye setting powder which I use all over my face in deep shade. This is effortless and makes me seem like I have no pores. Sets my face and looks amazing. No comparison!

Tried out Juvia's place skincare and beauty pie recommended products...will have posts on them out soon. Watch this space.

Glow recipe banana souffle moisture face cream - seems glow recipe may be phasing this out as it is not available on their site. Really liked this face cream. Used it morning and night. Highly moisturising but not oily and layers well with other products (treatments, serums, oils and SPF).

On the layering point, a little goes a long way, after putting this on your face, wait a minute before putting anything else on. It does have a tendency to peel if you layer immediately afterwards. A minute should do the trick.

Downside is, it does have a banana scent but after rubbing this into your skin, the scent is no longer noticeable in my experience. However, if you are sensitive to banana scents, you may want to skip this one.

Glossier stretch concealer - 2022 was a year I literally ran out of a lot of base products. Finally finished the glossier stretch concealer. This was great for no makeup, makeup days or running errands. Very light on, emollient, does not crease, feels like you are wearing nothing but brightens your under-eyes.

I have had this on for at most 8 hours straight and lasted all that time, had to cleanse off at the end of the day. I liked using this but by no means my fav. Pat Mcgrath occupies that spot.

Glossier skin tint - I love this! This is my 2nd bottle and replaced it as soon as it finished. No makeup, makeup days, put this on with your fingers (brush or sponge not needed), pat in the stretch concealer with your finger, eye liner, mascara, brow pencil and lip oil and you are on your way. Easy!

This is a dewy, thin formula but highly blurs your imperfections. You can layer it for more coverage or spot conceal where necessary. This gives you a natural your skin but better look.

The skin tint line has also been expanded by Glossier so easier to find your shade.

Pat Mcgrath sublime perfection foundation - what a name....The names of her products annoys me! Its like the product have to have a stupid unrealistic name that sounds fancy/bougee to justify the incredible price.

Saying that, this is still my favourite foundation. This is the 2nd bottle I have run through and already replaced. This is one I plan on replacing when i run through this one as well. This just makes your face look perfect! Worn it for 12 hours. No caking or creasing. Always get compliments when i have this on.

It is on the runny side and you must shake the bottle before dispensing. It gives you a natural but perfect look. It makes you look like your skin is perfect. A layer gives you light coverage and can be built up by adding layers to medium coverage. Would not layer more than medium coverage. Might start to look heavy.

This great for day or night and most especially, photographs well!

Ole Henriksen Truth Juice daily cleanser - This was just an ok cleanser. Did nothing special. Can wash off daily grime but not more than that. It has a clean and pleasant scent. Did not dry out my skin nor did it hydrate my face.

Did not wash off makeup and also a problem getting SPF off my face with this cleanser.

This is one fo the books, not going to buy again.

Beauty Pie Japanfusion genius lift elixir - What a name! This should make your complexion look more plump, dewy and hydrated within a very short space of time. Did it work? Yes! However, this costs £40 for non beauty pie subscribers and £12.50 for subscribers. The size is 15ml! That price is steep!

Look this is something you can get the same effect with Hyaluronic Acid. If this is already incorporated into your skincare in any form, you do not need this!

Lets' stop here before we start getting bored and will continue on subsequent posts. Enjoy the day and meet up in the next one...
