Koyudo Makiko Series....

Writer's picture: OSOS

Hello!

How are we all doing? Still keeping up with New year resolutions? Or you don't make resolutions?

Not a strict fan myself because I tend to stop them before end of 1st quarter. This year, going with daily affirmations. Making plans and fully utilising my calendars to setting up reminders of activities. Ensuring they are cleared daily.

So far, going good. Hoping to show results by end of 2nd quarter.

Anyways! Onto today's topic...Lets' get started.

I recently started using cream blushes rather than powders. Not strictly but fairly regular. However, my cheek brushes were just not up to snuff. However, like I previously stated, I prefer Fude brushes but hate using them for creams. They get gunky and have to wash by end of day.

Can across a write-up on future of Fude and Fude manufacturers looking into synthetic hairs.

Came across the Koyudo Makiko series with synthetic hairs that mimics Saikoho goat hair and vegan friendly. Love the brush handles and wood used for this series.

The series comes with 5 brushes and a zip able pouch. All for USD116. When you break down he cost per brush as sold individually, there is also a charge for the pouch. The powder brush (M -1), the cheek brush (M-2), Medium eyeshadow brush (M-3), Small eyeshadow brush (M-4) and a lip brush (M-5).

Given why I was getting these brushes, the Powder brush and the Lip brush would not be useful to me. There was no price gain/savings getting the set and selling off what I did not want. Therefore more prudent to buy exactly what I needed against getting the full set.

The cheek brush (M-2), goes for USD24. This has a round ferrule and easily picks up cream blushes and blends beautifully.

The brush head is a bit small and if small cheek brushes are not your thing, you may not like this brush. For me, this is perfect, places on the apple of my cheeks and blends upwards to my hairline.

This brush did not shed and does mimic goat hair. Very soft hairs, short handles (which I prefer). If you are not a fan of short handles, this is not for you.

Medium eyeshadow brush (M-3) goes for USD19. What I like about these eyeshadow brushes that, they are densely packed. When you place this against your hand and push down, it does not go all the way down. Densely packed.

I use the medium brush (M-3) for crease, outer end of my lid. This blends both creams and powder pigments/eyeshadows easily.

Small eyeshadow brush (M-4) goes for USD15. same density as the medium brush. I use this for inner corner of the eye and put this to about a third of my lid.

Also great for the lower lash line. Its soft and can get as close to my lash line as I want without my eyes watering.

These two brushes are also perfect for creating a halo eye look. The small brush for the inner portion of the lid and lower lash line. The medium brush for crease and outer lid. Use finger to place shimmer on lid. Done!

These brushes meet the exact reasons why I bought them. No regrets!

If you are looking for Vegan brushes from Fude manufacturers given their knowledge and experience of brush making, you can check out this set. I got them from Fude beauty. Also sign up and ensure you get rewards from your purchase if you are inclined to getting them: https://fudebeauty.com
