I recently came across a new brand in a round about sort of way and its pretty interesting, so wanted to talk about it with you all. Generally give a brand review.
I will give a little history and talk about my experiences with the brand so far.
Oden's eye was recommended to me by a friend following a discussion about lip products I could wear with a mask that would not stain my mask, remain on my lips and not dry me out. She recommended Oden's eye lip stains.
They were having a sale on their lip stains so I decided to give this a try. They have the matte and creamy lip stains. Decided to go with a matte lip stain that was sort of neutral but gave a little wash of colour.
Oden's eye is a Swedish makeup brand that started in 2017. They claim their powder products (eyeshadow palettes, highlighters and blushers) are vegan.
Their products are divided into various collections, focusing on nordic mythology, consisting of eyeshadows, lip products, brushes (in some cases), highlighters, blushers, even hair ribbons and scarves (which I found odd).
You can find collections such as Saga of the Freja collection (most recent), Alva series, Alva 2 series and Solmane series.
Now onto the brand review. I went onto their website and bought the matte lip stain in Apricot girl. This cost £12 on sale. Kind of pricey but decided to still try it as I got a further discount using a code the friend provided.

Reviewed the site further and decided to get one of the mini eye shadow palettes from the Alva series 2 collection.

Liked what the shimmers looked like and decided to try it. The mini palettes go for £15.
Need to also mention they ship to most countries and the shipping is pretty fast, also did not incur any further charges like custom fees. So great!
However, even though this was well packaged, the palette arrived broken. No fault of theirs in my opinion. The last shade, was broken but remained in the pan, turned it over, and out it poured into the bin.
Sent an email to their customer service with pictures of what happened. They responded within an hour, apologising and offered to either replace the broken shade or give me 20% discount on another palette and a scarf (as an apology).

Decided to go with the 20% off and got another mini palette. This arrived well packaged and arrived whole within a week of shipment.
Now onto the review of both mini palettes.
The mattes are great. However, you have to build them up to your intensity. The shimmers are the small pans while the large pan is a combination of two topper shades. Fine toppers but nothing to write home about and they fall out like crazy.
You would essentially get very similar looks from both palettes. The stand out shade is the red and its not that intense. I would skip these and probably go for the full size palettes. They offer more variation and may be worth the money.
I don't regret the purchase. Without the toppers, you can get work appropriate looks from these but they will look pretty similar and you will have to dip into another palette to complete your looks.
They do have quite a lot of fall out overall, while the mattes are powdery. An example is this eye look to show it off. It is nothing special as you can see.

Now onto a review of the lip stains. I found it difficult to find a comfortable way to wear it. I generally dislike liquid lipsticks as I find them drying.
The best way I found is lip balm, lip primer, lip liner, then the lip stain. No lip gloss on this as it messes it up. No matter the gloss, it just does not work.
Stays on, does not stain my mask. As long as I don't eat. As long as nothing else touches it, it stays in place. Apply anything else, it piles! When it piles and you try to wipe it off, it becomes a gloppy mess, which is just weird.
Lol. This is just my opinion. I would still recommend this brand but advise you go for the full size palettes and go with another brand for your lip products. There are better and cheaper lip stains that will work better.

This is the scarf I was given. I really like it and just tied it to a purse.
Well that is my review of Oden's eye. If you have any questions, let me know below and will answer them.
See you next post!
