This brand was started by Alicia Scott who worked in the New York fashion industry. Due to a lack of diversity in the market, inability to find her shade and tone as well as a lot of brands used ingredients that inflamed her eczema and acne. Rather than keep searching, she decided to create her own. Range beauty was born.
I find that brave, ingenious and can I just stand and clap for her?
Range beauty has a few products right now and growing. Their products range from primer, foundation to highlight, setting powder and body glow.
After the BLM of 2020, decided to explore more diverse brands and came across this brand. Decided to try their foundation.
I used the shade finder and recommended the colour ignite.
At the time, I purchased, international shipping was not available. This has since changed.
Had to get it sent to me in the UK - They do offer samples to try to ensure you acquire your right shade. However given the international shipment issue, decided to follow the recommended shade.
This arrived and behold, it was at least 2 shades to light. Tried mixing this with a darker colour, did not work out at all. The shade and tone was still off. After several tries, I gave up on that.
Nothing worked to improve the shade and tone. I ended up giving this to a friend who was a shade match.
However I did try this on. Even though its thick and I am a medium coverage girl, this was easy to wear, other products (creams and powders) worked/layered well with it. No piling issues.
I am still undecided about getting it in my true shade though. Still holding back.
I will do this in the upcoming months and give a full review.
