Hello everyone....Happy new month! This is the second time I am writing this singular blog post. I lost my earlier one which I liked greatly... No time for regrets and what cannot be undone must only be accepted... Upwards and onwards...
Hope your day and month is treating you great! Onto the topic at hand....Lets get going... Pumped for this one.
Today, we are talking Rephr! When you talk of Fude workhorses, this is it! This is what Omnia gold was trying to achieve.
This started in 2019 with Japanese makeup brushes which are hand crafted. This has grown to other tools such s eyelash curlers, makeup organisers and now into skincare.
The company name rèphr comes from the word reference. The basis of the company is using community input/feedback as a source of inspiration in designing products.
Shopping Rephr products from their site can be multi layered. You need to understand the site to get the best shopping experience.
You can buy the products from the general line at full price, use the concept store whereby you get to buy products at about 40% off on the premise that after use, you will come back and review the products. When you complete the reviews, the secret shop opens up and allows you to shop at 50% or more off at the secret shop.
Given the pricing depends on how you get the brush, will not be referencing the prices on this blog post. Whatever figures, I give you may not be able to get at that price or you may get at a lower cost. Best to see what is available on the site at each point in time. At the time of writing this post, can see prices at about 50% of the value.
That is the general basis of shopping the Rephr website.
Rephr brushes comes with the matte back handles including ferrule. The hairs on the brushes are hand bundled and while Rephr does reference goat hairs are used for the brushes, it does skate around the type of hairs used. My guess would be for tightly bundled brushes (eye brushes and some of the face brushes) Sokoho hairs are used while others with an airy feel, saikoho hairs are used. Don't quote me on that, that is just my opinion.
Worth mentioning, Rephr initial offering was the pro line which was black handles with silver shaded ferrules. The brush numbers were also in white lettering. Seems like they might be bringing back the pro line again but cannot say for certain.
After washing, the face brushes bloom really well about 20%. The eye brushes not so much which is perfect. Blooms just enough and retains their shape.

i have an extensive collection of Rephr brushes. Given that, you will surely get bored of my descriptions if I talk about my full collection. Best to talk about whatever I have in rotation at each time.
For now, these are the brushes in rotation. Lets' go through them.
Brush 01 - This is one of my favourite brushes because it is so multi-purpose. I use this for spot concealing (left side of my chin makes this mandatory), highlighting my nose, blending eyeshadows (powders and creams). It does it all. No shedding of hairs at all. Had this for about 2 years and it is still perfect. Got a backup of it as well. This is a dupe for Bristles beauty E02-RL.
Brush 02 - Shader brush. I use this to lay both mattes and shimmers along the lower lash line. Also use for placing shimmers on the lid. Like how small it is, so can use for the inner third of my lid to place shimmer there. This also washes well without losing shape.
Brush 03 - This is quite a small pencil brush. Perfect for inner corner of the eye to place pigment there. You can also pull pigment from inner corner to the lid or bottom lash with this brush.
Brush 05 - This is a cheek brush. Used the edges for highlight, the whole brush for buffing in both bronzers and blushes. This works for all. Again multipurpose! Why I like this brush as well.
While I like this brush for the purposes stated, it works better with powders. Do not advise using this for creams. The pickup is poor with creams.
Brush 13 - This is a crease brush. If you have hooded eyes like mine, this is for you! Can place pigments on the crease easily with this no matter how hooded your eyes are. The brush is also incredibly fluffy so easy to move. For creating halo eye look, this will also work placing mattes on the inner third of the eye.
This is also a dupe for Bristles beauty E03 - DM.
Brush 14 - This is another crease brush and very similar to the Brush 13. This however has a tapered tip. I use this exactly as I use brush 13. I also use this to blend the top of my crease out to blend all the shadows.
Brush 16 - large crease brush and use this for all over base eyeshadow all over the eye. Also use this for blending cheek highlight.
Brush 17 - This is the foundation brush Rephr came out with initially. I use this concealer, contour (which I hate) and foundation. I have also used this for cream blush. This brush works with all. The head is very small though so will take you a while to get through everything. The best way to use this also is, dotting the foundation all over your face, then blend with the brush.
Dipping the brush into the foundation, soaks up your brush. Rephr later offered a bigger foundation brush. We will get to that in another post.
Brush 26 - This is a large pencil brush and use this for placing pigments on the outer edges of the eye. You can also use this to pull pigments to the outer V shape. Can also be used to highlight the brow bone.
Brush 29 - This is an incredibly soft liner brush. While I am not a cream liner person, have a preference for pencil liners. However, this brush was gifted. I do use it for lining the top eye lid. This does not get much use from me and will probably discard with next declutter.
Brush 32 - This reminds of an extremely old brush I saw a while ago and could do anything and everything. Either way, i use this for blending out concealers, also for blending both creams and powders mattes tot he lid. My preference is for creams with this brush. use the tip to line the lower lid. Love its multi functionality.
As well as offering brushes, Rephr also offer organisers. I have the component A but this has been a chore to buy. It is never in stock. However, it is a great storage for your brushes if you are ever able to get them.
There is also the skincare line. Not a fan of this. Got the hydration cream and it was awful. Did not hydrate similar to splashing your face with water and calling that hydration.
Anyway, sticking to not making this post too long. Hope you find the brush descriptions useful if you are trying to get Rephr brushes. If you have questions, I am available to provide answers.
See you on the next post.....
