Sephora Savings Event......

Writer's picture: OSOS

Hello! We have come to that time of the year again when the Sephora savings event starts or is in progress and everyone and their cat goes crazy buying shit we don't need just to participate.

Not bashing anyone. I am or was (to be more accurate) one of them. Even had rouge status for a while there before my head became properly screwed on on where or how to get better deals for what you want.

What is this you may ask? This is when Sephora commences sales for a selected period. For this season, it commences on the 5th and ends on the 14th.

It is also broken down by tiers. Rouge starts from the 5th to the 14th and you get 20% off anything you buy.

For VIB - 15% and Insider - 10% from the 9th to the 14th.

If you are also buying from the Sephora brand from 5th to 14th April, you get 30% off. To join the insider, it is free and you only need to sign up on the site.

That is the basic gist of it.

Even with Rouge discount at 20%, I can assure you, you can get better deals with the individual brands. Having VIB or Insider status does not make it a worthwhile experience. Best to go to the individual sites.

The main point of my post today is to highlight the Sephora collection. The in-house brand. You can get this from Sephora.com, Canada site and UK site - Sephora.co.uk. All have discounts attached to the products irrespective of the Country.

They have had a recent re-formulation and put out new products in time for the sale. Wanted to take the time to highlight some of their products that I have had experience with. I think they are good for the price.

This is the micro smooth multi-tasking baked face powder. This product can be used as a light powder foundation or as a finishing powder.

This gives light coverage and takes down your shine. Its smooth and offer sheer coverage. This can be built up or used to set your foundation.

If you can get a deeper shade, can be used as a bronzer as well. This is a good product.

It is also on sale plus the 30% discount. Its a steal.

Honestly! This is a great foundation for the price. It is not the best foundation I have ever tried.

The consistency is on the thicker side but this gives you medium coverage with a natural finish.

One of the things I love about this foundation is does not transfer much or at all if you set this.

Does not go cakey unless you pile a bunch on your face.

This is the Sephora powder foundation.

This is an ok powder foundation but within 2 hours, my oils are popping out. Have to use a mattifying primer before using this.

While I prefer my Fenty powder foundation and the Chanel powder foundation being my holy grail, this does not match up.

However, this is less than half price of the other 2.

With a more fluffy brush, can get a light coverage for easy days or a denser one for more coverage. Just have to properly prime my face beforehand.

This is the Sephora collection waterproof 12 hour eyeliner pencil.

This is a roll up pencil. Been using this for years and think it has been re-formulated.

This pencils are great and do last a long time on your eyeline but do I think, they last for 12 hours? Probably not.

My favourites are the green and the purple. Even with the 30% discount, its iffy. They sometimes go on sale for USD5.

Even with that, while I would recommend this, I do think you can get good eyeliners for less than USD5. My opinion.

The Sephora best skin ever full coverage multi-use hydrating concealer.

Their products name are always a mouthful. What the heck is a multi-use concealer? Every concealer is multi-use. You want to use it once and dump it? Makes no freaking sense! We also have lazy days when we apply concealer as full base makeup. Pat Mcgrath concealer, looking at you winking.

This concealer does not work for that purpose. Too full coverage. It goes on cakey to the places I have it.

Either way, this concealer has an ok shade range. Cannot understand, 33 shades or white and 16 shades for tan to deep.

This is too full coverage for me overall. My preference is medium coverage. It looks great at first but after an hour, starts to look cakey.

While this may not fit into my preferences, if you are a full coverage person, this may be for you.

This is their new contour stick, while I do not like to contour my face, like my face shape but when I do, I prefer sticks or liquids.

This is a good one and also amongst the new re-formulated products they just put out.

For the shades range, they also follow the cooler shades a contour should be. Seen so many warmer shades called contours and you just want to scream at the brands.

"This is my type of bronzer but the shades look on the cooler side yet not cool enough for contour.

It goes on matte. The packaging is sleek and overall really nice for the price plus discount.

Pigmented not powdery. Goes on smooth not patchy. No touch to my favs Fenty, Pat Mcgrath and Mented but this does hold its own.

Its a fraction of what the others cost besides Mented bronzers.

Sephora also offers lip products, balms, shine lipsticks, matte lipsticks, lip liners.

These are not my go to lip products. They have also been re-formulated.

If you are looking for new lip products, you may want to look at these because of the discounts. For full price, would go to other brands.

Sephora tools! Brushes! if you are going to invest in Sephora beauty tools, the Pro versions are the ones I have experience with and would recommend if you are looking for Sephora beauty tools.

If you are not invested in getting them from Sephora, then look into other brands like Rose and Ben, BK Beauty if you are going for Synthetic brushes.

If you are invested in getting Sephora brushes, the pro version is better than anything else from the brand.

Also remember, you get 30% off the Sephora collection.

The sale end on the 14th of April.
