Hello people, hope everyone is doing good? Summer has finally hit! Hope everyone is coping with the heat. I complain about it constantly. Don't blame me, Hay fever is disurbing! One of my nieces says, Summer is the best season of the year!

Anyways, today's post is to talk about a company/website we well as review some products.

Shopmissa! Came across this site when thinking about how Primark prices of everything has been slowly ceeping up lately and its not so much a cost saving as we all assumed. So I came across this website that offers good products from makeup, skincare, spa, body, life, home to accessories at low prices.

It started in Dallas Texas and created by Jean Baik & husband Kenneth Baik in 2016, they launched their own brand AOA studios under the Shopmissa umbrella which also features other brands as well. As of 2021, there are over 15 actual shopmissa stores.

Quite a lot of their products are USD1! They also ship to most countries. There are several brands under the Shopmissa brand. For this review, I concentrated on Makeup products under the AOA Studios created by the umbrella owners. I also got some home/storage products which are fantastic.

They also frequently have discounts on their website. Offers like 11% off, 1USD shipping cost etc.

There is also a charity angle to some of their products, there are some which has an elevated prices at USD1.88, the extra funds are for charity activities like funding children's education locally and internationally. They also take on actual charity donations.Their website offers more information on this and it well worth reviewing.

Now! Onto the review. I tried to buy items for a full face but did not work out so well. Some items were cancelled from my order without prior notification. However, this was indicated in the receipt I was sent in the package. The shipping of my purchases arrived moderately early. No delays. It came well packaged and very secure.

This was everything that came in the package. Just poured it out of the packaging. They were also individually wrapped up and no leakages at all.

I was pretty pleased with how they arrived.

Nothing also came broken.

The complexion products were difficult to pick out. The site did not offer much in terms of shade matching yourself, so it was a lot of guess work. I could have gotten a range of shades and tested them out for my perfect match, however that seemed a waste, so picked what I assumed was the best shade match for me. This turned out to be a little light but wearable.

Went with a BB cream rather than an actual foundation. This was comfortable on skin offering light coverage, non cakey. You do not really need a primer with this. Offered no significant difference with or without a primer. Would be perfect for summer if you can find your shade. Layers well with skincare. Did not melt off my face even in humid temps. For the price of 1USD, was surprised by the performance.

Added a few layers and because uncomfortable, sort of heavy. Will advise to stop at maximum of 2 layers.

AOA Studio concealer - USD1.55 - I was not best pleased with he shade range of this. Limited for deeper skin toned. Shade I got was also too light for me. It has a thick formulation and a little goes a long way. I am not a full coverage person and in my opinion, this offers full coverage. I did not feel comfortable wearing this and it caked up my under-eye.

AOA Fat last mascara - USD 1. I got this mascara because it had really good reviews on the site. Umm.... careful of reviews now. This did not work for me. Clumpy, thick did not go on smoothly. This was a mess and a no! For the price? Can I complain? Essence lash princess which is perfection goes for £4.80.

AOA Studio slim brow - USD1 - this has a spooly at the end, massive positive! Got this in dark brown. Really good shade for me. Positives end there. Trying to get my brows done, this broke constantly. At 3 times just getting my browns done. About half the product was wasted at 1st use.

Save your money!

AOA Studio gel eyeliner - USD1. We have a winner folks!!!! Got this in black. smooth, glides on, creamy can smoke it out. Highly pigmented. I love this!!!! At the price, this is a steal!

Eyeshadow palette? - Can this 3 pack be called a palette? Anyways, got the 3 pack mattes for USD1. This blends into nothingness. I packed and packed the shades and as soon as you start blending, it all disappears. They had the palettes in shimmers...Should have gone for that, might be more of a test. Save your money on this one.

AOA studios perfect pressed powder in shade sand - Got the wrong shade for me. Usually a translucent shade lover but this banana shade was a bit too yellow. The packaging is flimsy. Took time to settle down. It was a little powdery and caked up my under eye. Not a lover of this, i admit to having the wrong shade though. May have had a slightly different opinion if the shade had worked for me and used a concealer I loved.

AOA Studio matte lipstick - this is no longer available on the site. Another pet peeve, they run out of products so quickly and not always brought back. This goes on smoothly, a little drying but its a matte formulation so cannot complain about that.

Now to the performance, a cup of coffee and a call later, less than an hour and this was all gone. Over the course of a day re-applied about 7 times in total. No one has time for that. This did not work for me.

This lip gloss is also no longer available on the site. It has little colour payoff. Used this by itself and gone in less than an hour. Not hydrating.

Applied on top of lipstick, lasted a little longer, the shimmer popped on the lipstick but was gone in under 2 hours. Not a fan of the lip products. These are not lasting and constant re-application is required. Too much work.

AOA Studio setting spray - Goes for USD1.88. Got this for the oil control aspect. This is similar to running tap water into a bottle, spray several pumps a nice perfume into it. Shake the bottle and there you go. Its perfumed water. Nothing more.

I like the premise of this shopping site and they do have nice products especially for storage and home. Really worth checking out. The makeup I got from there did not work out so much but they are more than that.

I was disappointed but considering the price, I will give it an average score.
