Units Synthetic Brushes...

Writer's picture: OSOS

Hello Everyone! Hope your week treated you well? Sittin here after midnight and writing up this post. My week was hectic and spent the day decluttering storage spaces. Yay me!

Just reminded me of junk we collect over the course of years. My belief is anything I have not used in 6 months to a year is not something I need in my life.

Less clutter promotes better living spaces. My opinion.

Lets' get into the topic of the day....this will be a short post but was asked about Unit brushes and wanted to give an overview in case it helps someone make better choices.

Got these brushes from Beautylish. They are from the Series 200 set. Fairly certain they belong to the Beautylish brand. I don't have the full set. Just enough to create a face less a concealer brush but try to balance that activity out still using the foundation brush if I am not dipping into other brushes other than this specific collection.

These brushes are made from vegan synthetic hairs that mimic Fude (disagree on that point). They are soft and glides on the face (agree).

The price seems spot on if buying on a sale (about 20% off). If you are buying individually none of the face brushes are over UD13 individually and none of the eye brushes are over USD7. I got them significantly discounted during a beautylish sale. Would I buy full price? No. At full price, you can get better elsewhere.

Do not really want to talk about each individually as that would be redundant and would repeat myself a lot. Rather treat them collectively as this is how I use them. These brushes work and would recommend them when going on short trips. Even for Fude users. If you lose them, they are not going to be a huge loss.

Why I would not recommend these for daily use, it tends to soak up products especially when you use for liquids. When used with creams, product then to stick to the bristles. They are easy to clean with a wipe down but the bristles stick together in clumps when you wipe off dry. Consequently, I can use this once and wash or have to wipe them with a brush quick cleanser/refresher and micro-fiber towel before next use.

The eye brushes are ok. Its the design of the brushes I am not fond of. I have hooded eyes and anything beyond a simple look will not work with these brushes. I am guessing you can make do if you have to. The pencil brush within the eye set is offensive. This is sharp and hurts the skin.

I prefer using these brushes with powders than creams. They work better with powders. That is my opinion on these Units brushes.

The full set including 6 face brushes and 5 eye brushes cost USD102. With beautylish sale, you can get this for less than USD70 or less. My set is missing 3 of the face brushes. For the price of the full et, you can certainly get better.

If you are looking for recommendations, let me know what yu are looking for in the comments section and will provide recommendaions.

The Unit brushes also come with other series. I have a few from the Basic series which I can confirm they are better than this and work better with liquids and creams . The Orange series from what I have seen is also better than this series. The prices are al similar.

All are available via Beautylish.com.
